Her clinical training has focused on serving the needs of children, adolescents, and families with a broad spectrum of emotional and behavioral struggles. Dr. Mitchell is certified in SPACE (Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions) and presents locally and nationally on evidence-based treatment. Through her leadership with the Kentucky Psychological Association (KPA) as the Child and Adolescent Representative and as a member of the Continuing Education Committee, she helps expand access to evidence-based training for providers across Kentucky.
Dr. Mitchell, a native of South Bend, Indiana, obtained a BA in psychology from Saint Mary’s College. She completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky and her pre-doctoral internship at Washburn Center for Children in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Mitchell’s graduate training program and her pre-doctoral internship were both accredited by the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Mitchell has met all of the requirements for the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) and has been granted the authority to practice telepsychology under the authority of PSYPACT in PSYPACT participating states.
