Who may benefit
This program may be a good fit for adults who:
- Find that obsessions, compulsions, or avoidance interfere with daily life.
- Prefer a concentrated treatment schedule over weekly appointments.
- Have received therapy before but have not had structured, OCD-focused ERP.
- Can attend daily appointments for two weeks and practice skills between sessions.
You do not need to feel fearless or know how to do exposures before starting. Your clinician will help you understand the process and determine whether this format is appropriate for your needs.
The program is not designed to treat depression as the primary concern or replace a higher level of care when needed.
How treatment works
You and your clinician will identify your OCD patterns and develop a personalized exposure plan. Through guided practice, you will approach feared situations, thoughts, or uncertainty while resisting compulsions.
Treatment combines education about OCD, cognitive skills, and exposure practice. Reviewing what you learn and practicing between appointments help you apply these skills in everyday life.
What the program includes
- Ten individual two-hour appointments, Monday–Friday for two consecutive weeks, with your chosen provider.
- A treatment plan built around your OCD patterns and goals.
- Two included one-hour family-support sessions with a supervised student clinician to help loved ones understand OCD and reduce accommodation, such as participating in rituals or providing repeated reassurance.
What to expect over the two weeks
Week one: Understand the OCD cycle, identify patterns, develop cognitive skills, and plan exposures. Exposure practice may begin during this week as appropriate.
Week two: The pace and specific exercises are tailored to your needs.
Practice between appointments is an important part of the program.
Treatment options and follow-up
In-person treatment is available at our Louisville office. Telehealth may be available depending on your location and your provider’s license to practice there. Home-based exposures may be arranged when appropriate.
Before the intensive ends, you and your clinician will discuss continued practice and any recommended maintenance or additional treatment. Follow-up is individualized; completing the intensive does not necessarily mean all treatment is complete.
Getting started
1. Schedule a free phone consultation
Arrange a free 15-minute consultation with your preferred provider. Discuss your questions, treatment options, and availability.
2. Complete an intake appointment
Meet with your clinician for an assessment to understand your symptoms, establish goals, and determine whether intensive treatment is a good fit.
3. Confirm your treatment schedule
Once your clinician recommends the program, our office will help you confirm your ten appointments, review fees and payment arrangements, and complete online paperwork.
4. Begin your intensive
Work with your clinician each weekday and practice your skills between appointments. We will also coordinate your included family-support sessions.
Payment and insurance
KYCARDS is a private-pay practice and is out of network with insurance. Program fees vary by provider; our office can provide current pricing and payment details.
- The intake appointment and maintenance sessions are billed separately from the intensive.
- Superbills are available upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement, which depends on your insurance plan, services, and provider.
- HSA cards are accepted.
